Maintenance

Foreword

These instructions for use and maintenance are intended to maintain the high quality of the work performed. However a raised access floor is only long-lasting under normal conditions of use.

Disassembly and reassembly
The number of panels removed at the same time must be limited

- The number of panels and/or stringers to be removed at the same time must be limited. Never remove entire rows of panels or large surfaces at the same time.
- Do not create islands of panels or pedestals, especially when moving equipment and furniture.
- Always dismantle in a chequered pattern where possible.
- Store any panels you remove upside down next to their original position, while waiting for the operation to be completed.
- Ensure the seals are put back correctly on pedestals and/or stringers. Non-compliance with this rule is the cause of most cases of unstable panels.
- Never kick a panel back into place.
- To put back a panel you have removed, always push the
neighbouring panels back to make enough room to reposition the panel easily.
- The panels and stringers removed must be put back as soon as possible (do not forget any stringers in the technical floor plenum) and any damaged components must be replace by identical new parts.
- Panels or other components which have been cut to fit walls or pillars must be put back in their original position.

Pedestals
Removing a pedestal is strictly forbidden

- It is strictly forbidden to change the place or positioning of a pedestal.
This would seriously affect the stability of the technical floor and would result in a high risk of dangerous falls into the floor plenum.
- Removing a pedestal is strictly forbidden.

Heavy and rolling equipment

- Handling and installing any heavy equipment must always be conducted using load-distribution panels which are sufficiently rigid to spread the load and avoid any temporary overload.
- The user must check that the load is compatible with the raised access floor installed.
- Never move any heavy equipment on a raised access floor which is being disassembled.

Networks
Avoid successive installation and reinstallation

- All electricity, low current, fluid and sheath routing must be located in the position intended for it on the layout plan and specifications.
- If these networks are to be connected to equipment fixed to the raised access floor, they must be positioned near to these panels in order to avoid excessive removal and reassembly.

Cleaning

- Washing the raised access floor with water is strictly forbidden.
- Use a vacuum cleaner and/or a brush.
- For hard floors, use a damp (not soaking) cloth with neutral cleaning products.
- Dry shampoos may be used for textile coverings.
- Wipe the edges of the panels occasionally, particularly when they are removed.
- Some polish can affect the antistatic properties of the coverings.
